Working of the accelerometer:

1. The moving mass is deflected because of acceleration which unbalances the differential capacitor resulting in a sensor output voltage amplitude which is proportional to the acceleration.

2. Phase-sensitive demodulation techniques are then used to determine the magnitude and direction of acceleration.
